Freedom & Puppy Love - 2 new Layouts

I scrapped a couple of my favorite photos. Oh, wait! They are all my favorites ;)

It's been a pretty good week here. I had a treatment on Tuesday and trust me when I tell you that the second week in february is absolutely, positively, without a doubt short on pictures.

Jacob started TaeKwonDo today with Master Kim. He loved it! He loved his uniform! He made a  new friend too. I am so proud of him - he paid close attention, did everything Master Kim asked and jumped right in with the kids that have been doing this a while. He is proud of himself and said it was one of his favorite days ever! Love that. Love that I have some photos too. Yay!

I will be changing the Cover page for this book. I do like what I have done though I have something in my head that I'd rather create.... and so it shall be!

I've been thinking how many pages can be printed in 1 book? I'll have a gigantic book if I am doing 2 a week x 4 = 8 which is 8x12=96. 96 pages. woe! I know I will love it. I'm just wondering if there is a company that will print a book that thick. AND I have already added an extra page and am certain I'll be doing more of that. Isn't it nice to read me thinking aloud?

Here's the layouts I did today and yesterday.

Project Life - February Cover Page

I have made my February cover page. My father's birthday is January 31st which we celebrated on February 1st so I will add those photos to February's week 1 pages :) I did use a photo from the celebration for my February cover - I tried to take myself out of the photo but it didn't fit well with the way I wanted the page so I am in there :)

Project Life - January 29th

We had a great day at the Adventure Aquarium with Jenn, Matt, AJ and Logan! The weather was just right for the few outside 'events' that were open and everything indoors was terrific. It was so much fun to watch you and AJ run from place to place and oooh and aaaaah. I think I enjoyed that the most!

Here are 3 pages of wonderful, happy, fun, joyous, memorable, documented moments of photos from January 29th - the last day I will be documenting January 2012. :)

I do not believe I will have many photos for the first week of February. Sigh. I always say that and usually end up having too many. This time... I just might be right ;)

Project Life Week 4

It's funny when I look at my photos -- my subject of choice is definitely my Sonshine :) Here are my week 4 pages.

Week 4 - Page 2

I did manage more photos than I thought and again ended up with 2 pages :) We went to the Aquarium on Sunday and think this week coming up is going to be full of photos -- I LOVE scrapping this way -- and think I'll add an "aquarium section" to this book. I am still confused about the month thing! IF you are reading this... since it is now February and I still have the 29th, 30th, and 31st to document would that be 1 page and then start February. Oi, am I even making sense? Anywho... thanks for sharing in our daily lives. There are NO ORDINARY MOMENTS.

Project Life Week 3

It's been a looooong week. As you will see in my pages I had a treatment and recovery takes some time. Then I caught the sickies from my boys. It's been fun :)

I am posting week 3's pages late even though I had them all done. I took 56 photos this week! I always take a lot... except for the week coming up... I may fall short. Somehow I managed to goof up the dates on some of my pages but I have corrected them. I also realized I am doing 2 pages for each week instead of 1! I jumped into this project hard and fast without really doing any 'research'. What I do love about this project is that anything goes. Perhaps next week I will have 1 page for the week. Now I am wondering how to do week 5 - with January having 3 days and going right into February - (29th, 30th & 31st) I'm doing a cover page for each month so where will this fit in? ;o ... sigh, I am confused yet again! I'll figure it out when I get there.

I've been working and learning my SLR camera. I love it. I especially love taking macro photos. In doing some pricing for lenses I was completely floored and there is NO way I am spending $500+ for 1 lens (not to mention the other one I would like is over $1k). There is a new camera on the market. Jimmy has a background in photography (he really could go pro - just has no interest) and neither do I! Soooo, we are selling the SLR (giving Jake our point and shoot) and have purchased the new Canon SX40 HS. It's coming home tonight :) I am very happy to have made this decision. I'll be able to shoot photos pretty much the same (from what I've seen online, specifically YouTube and other reviews by photographers  - all who seem very impressed). I will not have to purchase any lenses to take macro or zoom -- the specs are powerful and I cannot wait to start shooting with it! Obviously, if I were going to become a pro photographer I would keep my SLR and purchase lenses. I have no desire whatsoever. My only desire is to take great photos for memory keeping (and of the insects and flowers I love to photograph) - and now I will also have a video camera (stereo!) built in. This will be great when Jake starts Tae Kwon Do and softball.

Here it is in all it's glory ::

Life Lessons to my son

There are things that I've been telling Jake since he was a baby. They are 'life lessons' - things to remember, things to live by, things to carry with him forever. I took this photo a bit ago and have been waiting to use it. I saw a page done by Cindylo (@The Digi Chick with a kit by Etc. by Danyale) and fell in love with it. It's the closest I've come to scraplifting almost exactly.. save the kids and some of the words.

Your heart will always make itself known through your words. I love you, Mommy

If you are having a hard time reading the journaling here it is ::
"These are the things we always talk about,
Remember them. Hold them close and carry
them with you forever. Remember to always be
kind. Treat people the way you would like to be
treated. Listen with an open heart and mind.
Breathe. Believe in yourself. Love yourself. What
you put out to the world will come back to you.
It’s the energy and karma that goes around. You
will always need your Mother. Just be yourself.
You can be anything you want to be. Be patient.
Be careful. Trust your instincts and always have an
opinion. Read a lot. Be passionate. You always
have the power to be happy. Make friends and
keep them close. Pray. Eat healthy food. Exercise
and play. Never lose your sense of wonder. Dance
when you feel sad and smile at yourself in the
mirror. Never be afraid to tell your Mother or
Father anything. Forever, for always, and no
matter what - you are so loved."

Project Life Week 2

I am thoroughly enjoying this project! I prepare the pages during the week and add photos as I take them. I have another project and that is to really learn how to use my DSLR. It's so much easier to walk around with a point and shoot (and throw it in my purse!) but the photos are really not the same. I'll get there. One of Jimmy's majors was photography and let me tell you - WOW - can he take a good photo! Since I am the 'official' memory keeper I take the day-to-day pictures. Anyhow, it's fun and I am thrilled I challenged myself to do this. I know it's 'only' week 2 but, I shall succeed and have a big ass book at the end of the year. weeeee!
